The Event
BOA Marathon 2024 combined a 21.1 km half marathon and a 10 km road race at Jolshiri Abashon Project.
Event overview
The Bangladesh Olympic Association organized BOA Marathon 2024 with support and supervision from the Bangladesh Army. The event began at 6:00 am on Friday, 20 December 2024, at Jolshiri Abashon Project in Purbachal, Dhaka.
BOA described the event as an initiative to encourage physical activity, healthy living and participation in sport. The program reflected Olympic values including excellence, respect, friendship and sportsmanship.

Registration and prizes
Registration opened on 28 November 2024 at 8:00 pm. Published entry fees ranged from BDT 500 to BDT 700. BOA announced a total prize pool of BDT 7.3 million, with 93 prize places ranging from BDT 20,000 to BDT 200,000.
Participation
BOA later reported that more than 5,000 participants took part, including students, youth, veterans and fitness enthusiasts. The strong turnout helped establish a wider community around running and healthy activity in Bangladesh.
